Meet Our Therapists

  • Jessica Calderon MA, LPC, RPT

    OWNER, THERAPIST

I earned my Bachelor's degree in Psychology at St. Mary's University in 2004. I then received my Master's degree in Community Counseling from Texas State University in 2009. Before graduating, I interned at Texas State University counseling center where I worked with children and families. Those experiences helped me to discover Play Therapy and its benefit for children, which shaped the future of my counseling career. I have worked in the non-profit sector, a mental health hospital, private practice, and in the public-school system with at-risk youth. I have experience providing counseling to children, adolescents, and adults, and I have provided both individual and group services.

My philosophy on counseling is based on my belief that we need to feel connected—and it is this need that drives our relationships. When we feel disconnected, we may develop unhealthy habits or feel discouraged, which leads to unhealthy relationships. Counseling can help people learn to meet their needs in healthy ways; improving their relationships with others. My role, and mission, as counselor is to facilitate these processes through a nonjudgmental environment and relationship where my clients feel safe and accepted.

  • Eryn Chastain, LCSW

    THERAPIST

As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, or LCSW, my background includes working with children/ families, in school settings, with military members & veterans, and most recently at a community mental health clinic. I have joined the Arise Counseling family with excitement and vigor to continue helping others on their road to growth and healing. I graduated from Troy University with a Bachelors in the Science of Psychology and earned a masters degree from the University of Maryland, Baltimore School of Social Work. My focus there was clinical mental health and I am well-versed in helping others manage troubles with anxiety, depression, family discord, trauma, loss and general personal struggles.

As someone who loves the water, I often say to my clients, "This is your life, your boat. No one knows that boat better than you. It's your job to drive, choose your path and pace. Its my job to help navigate and keep us between the buoys". I believe you are a whole person, not just a list of symptoms & deserve to be treated as such. I look forward to meeting you and being with you on your journey!
